Biography
Andreas Petersson was born 1976. In his young years he lived with his parents and little brother
in Hoting, a small town in the north of Sweden.
At the age of 8 years old he started to take lessons to learn and play the electrical organ. The
same year he started to make his own little songs and from there on the main focus has always
been on making his own stuff.
After he finished upper secondary school he bought his first synthesizer. He started to make
lots of songs with it's built-in sequencer and recorded his first demo album.
The real boost to his creativity came when he started to study a year long music/computer
course. During that time he got his first PC and started to use hostprograms for both audio and
midi. It was all very easy and natural for him to learn this and soon he became the best student
in his class to produce music with the new technology. There were a couple more demo albums
recorded during and after this time.
Andreas continued to make music during and between studying and working and recorded a fourth
album around year 2000. Previous times he had help recording the vocals at a local studio, but
this time he recorded them himself. While the hardware was not as close as good as the studios
he still manage to get a good sound. Not only did he now write and compose his songs but also
mixed and mastered them.
At some point there was not much happening and he decided to go abroad with a good friend of
his. They went to Dublin, Ireland, to work. He didn't think he would be staying there very long,
so he didn't bring his pc or syntheziser with him. But he did stay, for two and a half years.
Working and having a good time, the luck came when he found true love. They decided to move back
to Sweden.
Well back home in Sweden he could not wait to get his fingers on the synthesizer. It didn't take
long until he had produced new songs with a more commercial sound and a better quality than
before. Seemed like the long break from music was a good thing.
While there were not many songs produced, they were liked by many. So for the first time Andreas
sent some of his demos to a few record companies. He recieved a phonecall shortly afterwards
from one of them. They wanted to sign a deal on one of the songs and send it to compete at the
Swedish Popular Song Contest. The song did not make it through so there was no single released.
Now there has been some time since there was any new music made by Andreas, but he has been very
busy with other things. He and his wife now live with their two small kids in Dorotea, a small
town in Lapland, Sweden.
Things are slowing down and the composer and producer Andreas Petersson, aka Cabante, once again
has lots of time and creativity to make music again!
This time he is aiming high!
